Lasitha P. Gonaduwage

Researcher and data science enthusiast
specializing in Data Science (M.Sc.), Physical Oceanography (Ph.D.), and Environmental Science (M.Eng.)

Hi, I’m a researcher and data science enthusiast with a passion for decoding complex systems, whether it’s ocean currents, cell populations, or environmental trends. My journey started in environmental modeling and marine science, where I worked on coastal ecosystem dynamics and understanding eddy-driven heat transport in marginal seas. I bring that same scientific curiosity and rigor to data science, building tools, models, and visualizations that make messy, real-world data actionable. I am highly motivated to contribute to interdisciplinary research at the interface of oceanography and data science, and to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary research teams. Whether in biotech, climate tech, or marine analytics, I’m here to turn insight into impact.
